About The Position

As a Security Officer - Port Terminal Patrol in Baltimore, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government port location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will document activity, communicate clearly with site personnel and visitors, and respond to situations with professionalism and care. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by following post orders, site-specific policies, and security-related procedures at a government location, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, docks, parking areas, and perimeter points; note unusual conditions and report maintenance and security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and assist with visitor, vendor, and contractor entry by checking identification and directing individuals to proper destinations per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; request assistance as needed and complete incident-related documentation.
  • Maintain accurate daily activity logs and communicate updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision as required.
