About The Position

As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a residential location, you will monitor assigned areas through routine foot rounds, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support residents, guests, and staff with courteous communication. You will help manage access control, report concerns clearly, and respond to situations with agility, reliability, and integrity while working as part of a team that puts people first.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting on-site management and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout residential living areas, common spaces, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or unauthorized access.
  • Monitor building access points, observe cameras and/or alarm panels as assigned, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns per site procedures.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and guest or vendor activity in written logs and/or electronic reports, and communicate key updates during shift transitions.
