Security Officer - Research Park Patrol
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Research Park Patrol in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support staff, students, and visitors with respectful customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting. Requirements
- Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet is preferred.
- State, County, or City Issued Security License is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, staff, parents, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols of classrooms, administrative areas, common spaces, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
- Monitor access points during arrival and dismissal periods, greet and direct visitors, and assist with visitor sign-in processes in accordance with site procedures.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and/or local responders as directed.
- Document routine activities and incident details in reports, including observations from patrols, policy concerns, and follow-up actions.
