About The Position

As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy retail and mall location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and assist guests and store teams with clear communication and customer service. You will report concerns, support incident response, and use computer and/or tablet tools to document activity, working with a team that values agility, reliability, innovation, and integrity.

Requirements

• Have 1+ years of security experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, tenants, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail property.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout interior common areas, exterior perimeters, loading areas, and parking areas to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify maintenance or policy concerns.
• Monitor entrances and high-traffic areas, assisting with crowd flow, observing for suspicious behavior, and coordinating with property management as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disputes, medical calls, and/or alarms, and request additional assistance when appropriate.
• Document patrol activity, incidents, and observations in written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
