As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government transit location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will support riders and employees through clear communication, friendly customer service, and timely reporting of concerns. Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR Certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of platforms, stations, parking areas, and perimeter areas, documenting observations and reporting maintenance issues or suspicious activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with crowd management and directing individuals to appropriate resources.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, verifying credentials when required and helping to deter unauthorized entry and/or prohibited activity.
  • Complete daily activity reports and incident documentation, communicate updates to Allied Universal leadership and/or site contacts, and support local law enforcement and/or first responders as directed.
