About The Position

As a Security Officer - Roving Patrol in Sheridan, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and document observations using site technology. Requirements

• Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Have at least 4 years of military or law enforcement experience or a criminal justice degree.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access control policies, and/or emergency response activities at a utility location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting observations and notifying site contacts and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, control areas, and the perimeter to help identify unusual conditions, hazards, and/or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor alarms, cameras, and other site systems as assigned, and report irregularities, maintenance concerns, and/or operational issues through established channels.
• Complete detailed reports, shift logs, and incident documentation, and communicate key information during shift turnover to support continuity of security-related operations.
