Job Description As a Security Officer - Screening Technician in Indianapolis, IN , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help support a secure operation by screening packages and people, monitoring assigned areas, and completing routine patrols and post checks. You will stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents, communicate clearly with team members and site contacts, and deliver a welcoming customer service experience while maintaining detailed observations and reporting.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • X‐Ray Screening Experience is preferred.
  • Lift More Than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Loss Prevention is preferred.
  • Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen employees, visitors, and deliveries at designated entry points using approved screening methods and equipment, following posted procedures and escalation guidelines.
  • Control access by verifying identification, issuing and/or collecting badges or credentials, and directing traffic flow for pedestrians and vehicles at gates and entrances.
  • Monitor assigned areas, cameras, and alarm indicators for unusual activity, and document observations, screening results, and incidents in required logs and reports.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services as directed.
