About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Rover Rounds in Santa Clara, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will assist with access control, observe and report unusual activity, and deliver strong customer service through clear communication. Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Have CPR and/or First Aid preferred.
  • Have access control and/or badge experience preferred.
  • Have a guard card and/or license preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and tenants at a commercial real estate location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout buildings, common areas, loading and service areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor access points and respond to access requests, assisting with visitor and contractor check-in, verifying authorization when required, and documenting entries and exits per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including addressing alarms, suspicious activity, disturbances, and medical situations, and requesting additional support as needed.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs, communicate observations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership, and support security-related investigations by preserving information and documenting actions taken.
