About The Position

As a Security Officer - Tech Site - Access Control in New York, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Front Desk Officer at a tech, media, and telecom location, you will be a welcoming first point of contact while supporting security-related operations. You will manage access entry, check credentials, monitor activity from the lobby, and document incidents with clear communication. Requirements

  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at the front desk of a technology and communications location.
  • Control access to the facility by confirming identification, issuing visitor credentials, maintaining visitor logs, and directing guests to approved destinations per post orders.
  • Monitor alarm panels, access control systems, and CCTV as assigned, and report irregular activity and/or policy concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting details, and assisting with coordination until help arrives.
  • Complete required reports, shift logs, and incident documentation, and communicate key information during shift turnover to support continuity of security-related operations.
