About The Position

Join Allied Universal at a busy port terminal location as an Access Control Officer, helping manage entry points, check credentials, and guide employees and visitors with a customer-first approach. You will remain highly visible, conduct routine patrols near gates and key areas, document activity, and communicate clearly with site partners. This is a driving post, supporting flexible coverage while acting with integrity through teamwork in a caring culture.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Have a TSA issued TWIC.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at entry points by checking identification and/or credentials, issuing badges and/or passes, and maintaining visitor and vehicle logs.
  • Screen and route incoming deliveries and outbound shipments per post orders, coordinating with site contacts to verify appointments and authorizations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and escalating issues per protocol.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location, including gates, lots, and perimeter areas, reporting hazards, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations.
