About The Position

As a Security Officer - TWIC Entry Gate Driver in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and log visitors and vehicles. You will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support site procedures with clear, professional communication and customer service. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A TSA issued TWIC is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at gates and entry points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, managing check-in and check-out logs, and directing traffic to approved areas.
  • Monitor for unusual activity and respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter, observing for security-related concerns such as unsecured doors, restricted area breaches, and/or suspicious activity.
  • Complete security-related reports and documentation such as shift logs, incident reports, and access records, and communicate relevant updates during shift turnovers.
