As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support students, faculty, and visitors with strong customer service and communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, and you will report observations, respond to alarms and/or access control needs, and work as a reliable teammate with integrity.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR and/or First Aid is preferred and may be completed post hire.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with campus personnel and/or public responders as needed.
• Control access at designated entrances, monitor visitor check-in processes, and/or assist with directing students, staff, and visitors in accordance with site guidelines.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations in written reports and logs, and communicate noteworthy activity to supervision and/or site contacts.
