About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Driver Route Patrol in Linden, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer supporting a utilities location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns, document activity, and provide courteous customer service while communicating clearly with site contacts and teammates. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy requirements, backed by a caring, agile, reliable, and integrity-driven team.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients at a utilities location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of work areas, equipment yards, access roads, and perimeter fencing; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Control access for employees, contractors, and visitors by verifying credentials, following sign-in procedures, and directing traffic flow as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including dispatching notifications per post orders and assisting with site evacuations and/or shelter procedures when required.
  • Complete routine reports and shift logs, document unusual activity, and communicate observations to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
