About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Interior Patrol in Fairfax, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy healthcare location, you will make rounds throughout assigned areas, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance. You will support patients, visitors, and staff with respectful customer service, clear communication, and detailed reporting. Requirements

  • Proof of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Being able to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior corridors, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including verbal de-escalation, dispatching appropriate resources, and coordinating with clinical staff and/or local responders as directed.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, assist with visitor direction and/or wayfinding, and help maintain orderly movement through entrances, waiting areas, and other high-traffic spaces.
  • Document security-related activities, incidents, and observations in written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate timely updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
