As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government corrections location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents. This is a driving post, so you will use a valid driver’s license to support patrol coverage and response. You will communicate clearly, provide customer service, and contribute to a culture that is agile, reliable, innovative, and grounded in teamwork and integrity at Allied Universal.

Requirements

  • Have at least 2+ years of law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site staff, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a government corrections setting.
  • Monitor access points and conduct identity verification, visitor processing, badge control, and contraband awareness activities according to post orders and facility protocols.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including calling for assistance, coordinating with facility personnel, and supporting de-escalation when directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, corridors, and the perimeter to help to deter policy violations, document irregularities, and report maintenance or security-related concerns.
  • Complete required reports and logs, including incident documentation, shift activity reports, and accountability records, and communicate updates through established channels.
