Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Duty in Hershey, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. Join Allied Universal at a food and beverage location as an unarmed patrol officer, monitoring and patrolling assigned areas to help reduce incidents through a visible presence. You will conduct routine rounds, support access control and badge checks, respond to calls for assistance, and document activity using a computer and/or tablet. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Having access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Having customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, contractors, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a food and beverage production and warehouse location.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of production areas, warehouses, parking lots, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards such as spills, blocked exits, and equipment issues.
- Monitor access points, verify identification and/or delivery documentation as required, assist with badge and key control processes, and help manage visitor and vendor entry in accordance with site procedures.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with medical calls, fire alarms, and building evacuations as directed by site procedures.
- Complete routine reports, incident documentation, and daily activity logs, and promptly communicate unusual conditions, policy concerns, and maintenance issues to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
