Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed Perimeter Rounds in Washington, DC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a renowned cultural institution location, you will monitor and patrol galleries, entrances, and public areas, performing routine rounds, staying highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and assisting guests with clear, courteous communication. You will document observations, report concerns, and support staff and visitors with a calm, service-first approach. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors by following site-specific procedures, access requirements, and emergency response activities at a cultural institution location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and requesting additional support as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of galleries, exhibit spaces, offices, loading areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor entry points, visitor flow, and interior areas for unusual activity, and complete accurate reports, logs, and incident documentation per post orders.
  • Support security-related operations by communicating clearly with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership, and by escalating maintenance hazards and/or operational concerns through the proper channels.
