About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Rover Driver in Berkeley Heights, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will conduct routine rounds, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support patients, visitors, and staff through strong customer service and clear communication. You will document observations, respond to calls for assistance, and collaborate with site teams with integrity and teamwork. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license per AU Driver Policy Requirements.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and parking areas, documenting unusual conditions and reporting concerns per site policy.
  • Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry by verifying credentials when required, assisting with wayfinding, and escalating access issues to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, suspicious activity, and requests for assistance from clinical and administrative teams.
  • Complete routine reports such as incident reports and daily activity logs, communicate clearly with site contacts, and support a professional environment through courteous interactions and consistent post performance.
