Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed Rover in Hopewell, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, completing routine rounds to help identify and report unusual activity. You will maintain a visible presence, support access control and visitor assistance, and communicate clearly with site teams and emergency services as needed. Requirements

  • Provide proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, warehouses, tank farms, parking areas, and perimeter fencing to help to deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Control access at gates and/or checkpoints by verifying identification, checking credentials, issuing visitor passes, and directing deliveries and contractors to the proper staging areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, medical calls, spills, and/or fire-related notifications, and coordinate notifications to site contacts and emergency services as directed.
  • Complete detailed reports on patrols, access activities, incidents, and unusual observations, and communicate updates to supervision and location representatives.
