Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed Perimeter Rover in Sandston, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a leading tech and telecom location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and support access control and visitor guidance. You will complete routine rounds, document observations, and communicate clearly with site teams. Bring an agile, reliable, innovative mindset, lead with integrity, and deliver through teamwork while providing top-tier customer service.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and vendors by following site-specific security-related procedures, badge and credential expectations, and access protocols.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the location, including interior spaces, parking areas, and perimeter points, to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
- Monitor alarms, cameras, and other building systems when assigned, and communicate observations to site contacts and/or emergency services as needed.
- Respond to incidents, access issues, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, scene awareness, and timely notifications.
- Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and daily activity documentation, and coordinate with Allied Universal leadership and site personnel during shift transitions.
