About The Position

As a Security Officer - Utility Patrol Shift in Rapid City, SD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Requirements

  • Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or Equivalent.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the utility location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any irregularities, such as security-related breaches, hazards, or unusual situations, to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential security-related incidents within the utility environment.
  • Complete required reports and logs in a timely and accurate manner as directed by site policies and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Interact with employees, visitors, and/or contractors in a professional manner while providing assistance and information as needed.
