As an Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, and support badge and alarm panel activity while maintaining accurate logs. You will conduct routine patrols and keep a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, while providing strong customer service and clear communication to employees and visitors. Requirements

  • Have 1+ years of security experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Having alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Having access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, security-related policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial chemical location.
  • Control entry and exit at designated gates and/or lobbies by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, managing vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow, and maintaining access logs per post orders.
  • Monitor alarms, radios, and communications systems; respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and notify site leadership and/or public responders as required.
  • Conduct routine checks of restricted areas and access points to help to deter unauthorized entry, tailgating, and/or prohibited items from entering controlled areas.
  • Complete detailed reports of access activity, incidents, and irregular conditions; communicate updates during shift turnover to support continuity of security-related operations.
