As an Access Control Officer at a residential community, you will welcome residents and guests, manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor cameras and alarms, and document security-related activity using a computer or tablet. You will remain visible, communicate clearly, and help to deter unwanted activity while providing a professional, customer-focused presence. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Have a guard card and/or license preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and vendors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a residential location.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification, managing visitor and vendor check-in, issuing passes as directed, and maintaining accurate logs and/or reports.
  • Monitor alarm panels, cameras, and other access control systems, and report irregular activity per site protocols to help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of common areas, entryways, and the perimeter, noting and reporting hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations.
