About The Position

As a Security Officer - Visitor Checkpoint in Pontiac, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a fast-paced tech location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, greet employees and visitors with outstanding customer service, and communicate clearly with site teams. You will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, document activity, and support smooth operations. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out access control and other security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Monitor and control entry and exit at designated access points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining visitor, vendor, and delivery logs.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and documenting actions taken per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Operate and monitor security-related systems such as CCTV, alarms, and access control platforms, and complete detailed reports for unusual activity, incidents, and policy violations.
