Job Description As a Security Officer Patrol Experience 6+ Months in Brooklyn, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control as needed, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and document observations. Guided by a caring culture that puts people first, you will deliver through teamwork, stay agile and reliable, and always act with integrity.

Requirements

  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by following site-specific procedures and Allied Universal post orders, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior and exterior areas, including common spaces, entrances, and perimeter points, noting unusual conditions and reporting concerns per protocol.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site management and public agency personnel as needed.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity as assigned, helping to deter unauthorized entry and/or prohibited items, and directing individuals to the appropriate staff or services.
  • Complete security-related documentation such as incident reports, daily activity logs, and shift pass-downs, and communicate key information to the oncoming shift.
