As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer, you will help manage entry points at a busy location by verifying credentials, screening visitors, issuing badges, and documenting activity. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with employees and guests. Requirements

  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, drivers, and visitors by following site-specific access control procedures, including verifying identification, issuing credentials, and maintaining visitor, vehicle, and delivery logs.
  • Monitor entry and exit points and access systems, such as badge readers, gates, and/or cameras, and help to deter unauthorized access by identifying and reporting suspicious activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, access violations, and emergency notifications, and escalate to site leadership and/or emergency responders as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, parking areas, and perimeter to support security-related procedures, check doors and gates, and identify hazards, maintenance issues, and/or unusual conditions.
  • Complete timely documentation such as shift activity reports, incident reports, and access control records, and communicate pertinent information to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.
