As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor check-in, and support staff with clear, professional communication. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, document unusual activity, and respond to requests for assistance to help reduce security-related incidents. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at entrances and restricted areas by verifying identification, issuing and retrieving visitor credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor logs, and directing traffic to appropriate check-in points.
  • Monitor alarms, CCTV, and access control systems, documenting irregular activity and communicating updates to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including calls for assistance, disruptive behavior, and fire or medical emergency notifications per site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare location and perimeter, reporting hazards, unsecured doors, and policy concerns to help to reduce risk.
