As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control and badge activity, respond to concerns, and deliver standout customer service through clear communication. You will bring an agile, reliable, and innovative mindset, working as one team and acting with integrity while putting people first.

Requirements

  • Have 2+ years of security experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out Allied Universal and site-specific procedures, access guidelines, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, gathering details, and requesting public services support when needed.
  • Monitor entrances and shared spaces for unauthorized access, suspicious behavior, and/or policy violations, and communicate observations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Prepare clear, timely reports and logs of patrol activity, incidents, and security-related hazards, and support follow-up actions as directed.
