About The Position

America's Auto Auction Minnesota is hiring for a part time overnight Security Guard! The Security Guard oversees site security operations to protect employees, customers, assets, and facilities while supporting a safe and controlled environment during auction operations. This role manages security coverage, policies, and incident response protocols across auction property, including vehicle lots, buildings, and sale-day operations.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of security operations, access control, and incident response procedures.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with employees, customers, vendors, and external agencies.
  • Applies strong judgment and decision-making during urgent or high-risk situations.
  • Maintains strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy for incident logs and reporting.
  • Works effectively in fast-paced environments with moving vehicles, public activity, and shifting priorities.
  • Maintains confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
  • Uses basic computer systems and reporting tools proficiently.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 3 years of experience in security operations, loss prevention, law enforcement, military, or related security roles.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods across lots and facilities.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to respond quickly to incidents and navigate active operational areas safely.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds (cones, barriers, signage, equipment).
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable persons with physical disabilities to perform the job.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in automotive, logistics, warehouse, retail asset protection, or high-traffic operational facilities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures controlled entry and exit procedures for employees, dealers, vendors, and visitors, including badge and gate processes as applicable.
  • Monitors site conditions and coordinates patrols to prevent theft, vandalism, unauthorized access, and safety/security incidents.
  • Investigates security incidents, documents findings, and partners with leadership to implement corrective and preventative measures.
  • Coordinates with local law enforcement, emergency responders, and third-party security vendors as needed.
  • Maintains security documentation, logs, reports, and evidence procedures in alignment with company standards.
  • Supports sale-day security planning, including crowd flow, dealer traffic coordination, and high-activity lane/lot coverage.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
