About The Position

As a Security Officer - Government Site - Full Time in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, support access control and badge checks, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to requests, document activity, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while delivering respectful customer service. Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 6+ months of security experience.
  • Provide proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, residents, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response protocols as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of building areas, common spaces, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; document observations and take appropriate action.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, requesting assistance, and coordinating with onsite management and/or public resources as required.
  • Monitor access points by checking identification, managing visitor entry, controlling keys and/or badges as assigned, and directing individuals to the appropriate location.
  • Complete accurate shift logs, incident reports, and other required documentation; communicate pertinent information to supervisors and incoming officers during post transitions.
