As a Screener at a government location, you will be a welcoming first point of contact, helping manage access through screening procedures, checking credentials, and guiding visitors and staff with clear communication. You will stay visible, document security-related activity, and collaborate with site teams to help maintain an orderly environment. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service at a government facility by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed by Allied Universal and the location.
  • Operate screening checkpoints by verifying identification and credentials, directing pedestrian flow, and conducting entry screening such as walk-through magnetometer, handheld wanding, bag inspection, and/or prohibited item control per posted requirements.
  • Monitor X-ray screening equipment when assigned, interpret images, and escalate questionable items for secondary screening and/or supervisor review in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or disruptive behavior in a calm, problem-solving manner, document events, and notify the appropriate personnel as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, public-facing spaces, and perimeter-adjacent zones to help to deter unauthorized access and/or policy violations, with working conditions varying by post assignment.
