Job Description As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Checkpoint in Dekalb, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced food and beverage location where you will manage access control, monitor entry points, and conduct routine patrols to help identify and respond to security-related concerns. You will remain highly visible, verify credentials and/or visitor logs, and deliver strong customer service through clear communication. Requirements

• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a food and beverage location.
• Control access to the facility by screening visitors, vendors, and contractors, verifying identification and/or authorization, and issuing visitor credentials per site policy.
• Monitor entry and exit points, manage vehicle and pedestrian traffic at gates and loading areas, and document access activity in required logs and/or systems.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with alarms, access issues, and escalation to site contacts and/or public responders as needed.
• Support shipping and receiving operations by coordinating check-in and check-out of deliveries, confirming appointments and/or documentation, and directing drivers to designated areas per site procedures.
