About The Position

The Study at University City is seeking organized and detail-oriented Part-Time Overnight Security Officers to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests, team members, and the property during overnight hours while delivering a professional and service-focused presence throughout the hotel. The Security Officer monitors hotel activity, supports safety protocols, and responds to incidents as needed. This position requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently during overnight shifts. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years in a security, safety, or related role preferred.
  • Must be able to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain focus during overnight hours.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English required; a second language is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with hotel departments, vendors, and guests.
  • Ability to lift or carry items up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and patrols of the property to ensure safety and security standards are maintained.
  • Monitor CCTV systems and report any suspicious activity or security concerns.
  • Coordinate vendor and delivery access and ensure proper escort procedures are followed.
  • Respond to and document incidents, including accidents, thefts, and safety concerns.
  • Maintain and oversee lost and found procedures.
  • Manage key control systems, conduct audits, and maintain accurate records.
  • Support and maintain emergency and safety procedures.
  • Prepare detailed reports on daily activities and incidents.
  • Communicate effectively with hotel leadership and departments as needed.
