As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a higher education location, you will conduct routine patrols of buildings and grounds, stay highly visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support students, faculty, and visitors with clear communication and professional customer service. You will help manage access control and respond to reports with integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach that reflects Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, and innovative culture.
Requirements
- Have a minimum of 2 years of security-related experience.
- Be 21+ years of age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, common spaces, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify maintenance hazards or policy concerns.
- Monitor access points and report suspicious behavior, unauthorized access attempts, and/or policy violations in accordance with post orders and campus procedures.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, providing assistance, documenting key details, and notifying appropriate campus resources as needed.
- Complete detailed reports of patrols, incidents, and/or service calls, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site representatives.
