About The Position

InterSystems is a global leader in healthcare data management and interoperability, providing mission-critical technology that powers hospitals, health systems, and national infrastructures around the world. Our products underpin some of the most trusted healthcare and financial systems in the industry — where availability and security are non-negotiable requirements. As a Security Product Manager, you will help protect the integrity of these critical infrastructures by ensuring that our platforms, data services, and innovations are built on secure, standards-based foundations. You will define and drive product strategy at the intersection of database security, cloud infrastructure, and AI integration, ensuring our products deliver innovation, resilience, and trust. Security at InterSystems is a horizontal capability, influencing every layer of our technology stack. This role requires close collaboration with engineering teams and product managers across multiple domains to ensure security is designed, implemented, and communicated consistently across all products and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in security engineering, product management, or related technical disciplines, ideally in cloud, database, or AI-centric environments.
  • Strong understanding of database security, key management, encryption standards, and secure API design.
  • Familiarity with KMIP, OAuth, OIDC, and other interoperability protocols for secure data exchange.
  • Experience integrating or governing AI/ML systems and MCP-based interfaces to ensure data protection and compliance in intelligent workloads.
  • Understanding of cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and cloud-native security controls.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with proven ability to coordinate across teams and work effectively with other Product Managers to align on shared goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept through secure, compliant release.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degrees or certifications in product management or information security (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSK) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Security-First Product Strategy: Define and execute product strategy emphasizing security by design across data management, application integration, and AI-enabled components.
  • Customer and Market Research: Conduct interviews, surveys, and technical deep dives with customers and partners to identify emerging security challenges, compliance requirements, and integration opportunities. Translate insights into actionable product features and strategic priorities.
  • Integrate Industry Standards: Champion and implement security and interoperability standards such as KMIP, OAuth, OpenID Connect, TLS, and quantum resistant encryption within product architectures.
  • Database and Platform Security: Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to enhance encryption, key lifecycle management, auditing, and fine-grained access control in both on-premises and cloud-hosted database environments.
  • Cloud Security and Compliance: Partner with cloud platform teams to embed robust security controls across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, ensuring secure networking, storage, and identity federation.
  • AI and MCP Integration: Guide secure integration of AI-powered features and Model Context Protocol (MCP) interfaces to ensure data privacy, provenance, and standardized interoperability between models, data, and applications.
  • Security as a Horizontal Function: Work closely with Product Managers across different product areas—such as interoperability, analytics, developer tools, and healthcare solutions—to ensure consistent application of security principles, standards, and feature integration across the portfolio.
  • Threat Modeling and Risk Mitigation: Collaborate with security architects to identify and mitigate emerging risks, including those introduced by evolving AI and data integration technologies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with product, engineering, compliance, and customer-facing teams to translate complex security requirements into actionable, value-driven product capabilities.
  • Security Evangelism: Communicate security and interoperability capabilities effectively to internal stakeholders, customers, and partners, driving confidence in the platform’s resilience and integrity.
