As a Seed Handling Specialist based at the Mankato Research Center, you will play a key role in the development of new seed products, traits, and research technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in agronomy or related scientific field.
  • Working knowledge and hands‑on experience in agronomy, crop production, plant development, or small‑plot experimental design.
  • Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to learn and effectively use internal Corteva Agriscience software systems.
  • Ability to safely and efficiently operate agricultural or research field equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build productive working relationships across teams.
  • High attention to detail, self‑motivation, and ability to initiate and execute projects, process improvements, decision‑making, and problem‑solving activities.
  • Will be required to do physical lifting and work outdoors in varying ergonomic environments.
  • Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds.
  • Extended work hours and occasional overnight travel during peak workload periods will be required. Some additional travel may be necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and ability to obtain CMV license (needed for pickup/bumper pull trailer combination).
  • Demonstrated capabilities in leadership, operational safety, supervision, and effective time management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead seasonal seed handling operations, including packaging, shelling, seed treating, seed requests, shipping, and hand harvesting.
  • Maintain organized and accurate seed inventories to support local and external research programs.
  • Supervise and direct seasonal employees, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with established protocols.
  • Ability to obtain FAA commercial UAS license for data collection flights.
  • Support or lead various research center activities such as experiment planning, plot planting, data collection, plot management, corn pollination and machine harvesting.
