About The Position

As a member of the accounting team this position supports the Senior Accounting Manager with the coordination of the businesses internal and external, interim and year end audit. This Senior Accountant will be responsible for reporting budget and latest estimates to the parent company in Tokyo, month end, journal entries, monthly detailed account reconciliations, extensive review, analysis, research, and follow-up with departments keeping accounts current and quarterly/monthly reporting from parent company. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Extensive audit experience. Big 4 is a plus
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting-related experience in a fast paced and highly competitive service and/or sales environment.
  • Strong analytical and spreadsheet skills
  • SAP experience a strong plus
  • Financial presentation skills
  • Ability to independently prioritize work
  • Must be based in EST.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding key company audit controls
  • Attend annual walkthrough meetings with auditors
  • Documenting and updating controls as needed
  • Coordination of audit request with accounts receivable, accounts payable, logistics departments
  • Careful review of audit documentation, discussing issues and findings with Senior Accounting Manager
  • Follow up on auditors’ requests
  • Propose solutions for process efficiencies
  • Ensure all deliverables are completed timely
  • Consolidation of Budget information for reporting to Parent in Tokyo
  • Detailed Independent review
  • Review of all input with Senior Accounting Manager
  • Perform fluctuation analysis to ensure forecasts are in line with business environment changes and expectations
  • Make adjustments based on feedback from Controller and Businesses
  • Ensure all deadlines are met
  • Account Analysis and extensive follow-up and resolution of challenging issues
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Ad-Hoc requests from Controller and Senior Accounting Manager
  • Involvement with special projects
  • Specialized training and utilization of SAP and BI
