Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 3 years related experience and/or training
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CMA license or candidate preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead the completion of monthly and quarterly accounting activities within payroll accounting in support of multiple entities/pay groups.
  • Perform internal controls across multiple entities.
  • Analyze salary, wage, taxes, and benefits-related expenses and forecasted balances.
  • Lead work regarding appropriate general ledger coding in the payroll system to ensure that balances reported are in compliance with GAAP and company policy.
  • Participate in various projects related to payroll accounting processes and systems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Human Resources, Operations, Finance, Tax, and Legal, as well as external partners, to support initiatives, ensure accuracy, and resolve inquiries in a timely and effective manner.
  • Identify ways to develop and implement best practices to improve existing processes, accuracy of accrual and payment calculations and reduce errors and inquiries.
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Prepare documentation to assist internal and external auditors.
  • Support management through ad-hoc reporting, analysis and special projects as assigned.
  • Some late nights and weekends may be required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
