About The Position

The Senior Accountant is responsible for general ledger duties for Jefferson Regional and its subsidiaries. This role is expected to have a strong working knowledge of basic accounting concepts as well as an analytical mind-set. The Senior Accountant ensures compliance with healthcare regulations, and providing accurate and timely financial reports.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent: Business, Finance, or accounting required.
Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated.
Must be flexible and have the ability to interact with many individuals from the various disciplines found within a large healthcare organization.
Must be able to handle confidential material with integrity.
Accuracy and attention to detail is required as well as good communication skills.
Must be able to deal professionally and courteously with public and employees.
Must be able to handle stressful conditions, meet required deadlines and perform multiple tasks.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Nice To Haves

One to two years’ experience in healthcare finance or accounting is preferred.
Hands on experience with PC-based spreadsheets and financial accounting/reporting systems is preferred.
Proficiency in accounting software and hospital information systems preferred
Strong knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle, cost accounting, and regulatory frameworks preferred
