About The Position

This position is expected to primarily work onsite at our Administrative Offices. Candidates must be local to Madison, WI area or be willing to relocate to regularly commute to work onsite. GHC-SCW is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accounting Analyst to join our Accounting team. In this role, you will play a key role in supporting accounting operations, budgeting, financial analysis, and department budget variance reviews. You will help develop the annual operating and capital budgets, coordinate internal and external financial reports, and contribute to quarterly and annual financial statements. Additional responsibilities include developing financial models for premiums and outside medical costs, preparing journal entries and reconciliations, supporting monthly and year-end close processes, assisting with interim and annual financial audits, and providing financial education and guidance to staff across the organization. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, deadline-driven, and capable of working independently under the general direction of the Accounting Manager, with additional reporting to the Director of Finance. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, business/health care administration or finance is required, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of financial analysis, budgeting or accounting experience is required.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use computer software programs and systems including Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, spreadsheet, email and word processing is required.
  • Ability to use MS Excel and other accounting spreadsheet software, and the ability to use and or learn computer systems such as EPIC is required.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and make recommendations is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management is required.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to pay attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills are required.
  • Ability to maintain patient, organizational and financial confidentiality is required.
  • Ability to learn and/or knowledge of HIPAA requirements required.
  • Excellent customer service skills are required.
  • Ability to be culturally sensitive and work with a diverse population.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and the ability to prioritize are required.
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard extensively is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present findings to management and others are required.
  • Ability to analyze, write, calculate, plan, explain, and investigate is required.
  • Ability to sit at a desk for 80 percent of the day is required.
  • Ability to move, reach and handle various binders and/or other documentation is required.
  • Ability to work with fingers for various manipulation activities on a regular basis is required.
  • Visual acuity for review of various work forms and reports is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare and/or insurance is highly desirable.
  • Experience with EPIC and BI Launchpads desirable.
