About The Position

Nassau Candy is a leading manufacturer, importer, and distributor of specialty confections and gourmet foods with national reach and multiple operating divisions. We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Analyst to support our growing finance organization. This is a high-visibility role working directly with the CFO, with exposure to corporate accounting, tax, audit, compliance, and financial planning activities across multiple entities. The right candidate will gain broad exposure across corporate accounting, tax, insurance, compliance, and financial planning — making this a strong career accelerator within a growing, privately held organization. The Senior Accounting Analyst will play a key role in corporate accounting, compliance, audit coordination, tax support, financial analysis, and reporting. This individual must be hands-on, technically strong, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for a public accounting professional or experienced corporate accountant seeking broader exposure across audit, tax, budgeting, compliance, and operational finance. This is not a back-office transactional role. It is a strategic, analytical position that supports: Multi-entity financial oversight Audit and tax compliance integrity Corporate governance and regulatory compliance Executive decision support

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred or in progress).
  • 4–8+ years of accounting experience (public accounting experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and audit support.
  • Experience supporting tax compliance and working with outside tax advisors.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling).
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP systems and ADP reporting a plus.
  • Experience in manufacturing and or distribution preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare support for and manage the annual 401(k) audit, including coordination of ADP census testing.
  • Manage annual insurance audits (Workers’ Compensation, Auto, General Liability).
  • Prepare documentation and support for annual insurance renewals.
  • Manage annual compliance filings (IDA and various state agencies).
  • Support preparation of tax trial balances and documentation for tax return preparation.
  • Oversee certain corporate tax filings.
  • Manage corporate and monthly/quarterly tax payments, including PTET.
  • Perform accounting write-ups and prepare financial statements for smaller affiliated entities.
  • Reconcile and analyze intercompany and general ledger accounts.
  • Review general ledger AP postings for accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze corporate credit card spend and ensure appropriate expense coding.
  • Oversee payment of real estate tax bills for various entities.
  • Prepare annual budgets and pro forma financial statements.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis on revenue, expenses, customers, and inventory.
  • Track company tax and expense projects across entities.
  • Assist with financial modeling and scenario planning as needed.
