About The Position

The Senior Accounting Manager leads the Specialty Contracting Accounting Department and oversees all financial operations for Tasman’s Specialty Contracting group. This position manages general ledger integrity, monthly close, financial reporting, audits, billing processes, and ERP workflow improvements—particularly within NetSuite and Paycom. Serving as the primary liaison between Corporate Accounting and the Specialty Contracting subsidiary, this role ensures consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across billing, reporting, and financial systems. The ideal candidate is a strong leader, technically skilled, and hands-on in managing a multi-entity, growing business environment.

Requirements

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and analytical ability
  • Proficiency in NetSuite ERP and advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate financial information to non-financial teams
  • Strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 10+ years progressive accounting experience, including supervisory roles
  • Experience in a multi-entity, construction, environmental, or specialty contracting company
  • AIA billing experience (required)
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the regional accounting team through coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback
  • Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and collaboration
  • Oversee workflow, delegate responsibilities, and manage deadlines
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and set professional development goals
  • Oversee monthly and year-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and intercompany eliminations
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for CFO review
  • Manage general ledger integrity, prepaid accounts, fixed assets, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support job cost tracking, project accounting, and financial reporting to Operations
  • Lead audit preparation, 1099 reporting, and assist with tax filings
  • Build and maintain accurate customer billing within NetSuite
  • Collaborate with the CFO and NetSuite Administrator to improve workflows, approval routing, and automated reporting
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement NetSuite-driven solutions
  • Support testing, data cleanup, and module implementation
  • Troubleshoot accounting-related issues and provide systems guidance
  • Maintain and strengthen internal control procedures to ensure GAAP compliance
  • Review and update accounting policies and documentation
  • Support external audits and internal compliance reviews
  • Oversee credit card programs and expense reporting processes
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, and Operations to streamline processes
  • Provide financial insights and develop metrics for decision-making
  • Serve as the main liaison between Corporate Accounting and subsidiaries
  • Maintain a strong understanding of regional billing processes, especially Texas operations
  • Provide guidance and oversight to current and future regional accounting staff
  • Participate in strategic projects and system implementations assigned by the CFO
