We are looking for a self-motivated experienced professional looking to build a rewarding career supporting our Global Financial and Corporate Functions (GFC) Audit Group. This position will be part of a core team that provides audit coverage of the Global Finance and Actuarial (FAC) function for risks associated with Actuarial including assumptions, valuations, pricing, as well as other financial risks such as capital & liquidity, accounting & financial reporting, and model. This position is based in Newark, NJ, in a hybrid model, and may require travel which should not exceed 10%, depending on audit plan coverage.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years prior work experience in auditing and/or performing job functions in actuarial, finance, investment or risk management.
  • Strong understanding of financial management in insurance businesses, with the ability to balance the big picture and details
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities with sense of urgency
  • Ability to communicate audit topics and issues clearly and confidently with management
  • Self-motivated and ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • Analytical thinking and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree is required and obtained ASA or taking actuarial exams

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and statutory (STAT) insurance accounting and capital requirements
  • Experience with, or exposure to, data analytics tools and coding (Python, SQL, and/or other data science techniques)
  • Knowledge of COSO, SOX, risk assessment, control analysis, and/or audit methodologies
  • Advanced degree in actuarial science, business, finance, accounting, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business management and control partners to identify, assess, and prioritize risks and controls
  • Execute audits end-to-end, including planning, risk assessment, data analytics, control analysis, testing, issue development, and reporting
  • Apply Prudential’s agile audit approach to deliver timely, well-supported outcomes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the audit approach and help develop teammates through collaboration and knowledge-sharing
