About The Position

This role offers the opportunity to leverage actuarial expertise to shape the financial and strategic decision-making for a pediatric healthcare organization. You will analyze complex healthcare data, forecast costs and revenues, and evaluate the value delivered to patients and payors. Working closely with finance, business development, and healthcare economics teams, you will provide actionable insights that inform senior leadership decisions and new business strategies. This position combines technical rigor with cross-functional collaboration, offering exposure to value-based reimbursement, Medicaid, and innovative healthcare delivery models. You will play a critical role in ensuring sustainable growth while enhancing care for children with complex medical needs. The environment is dynamic, fast-paced, and mission-driven, allowing for both independent analysis and collaborative problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or actively pursuing, with 3+ completed exams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of actuarial experience in healthcare, managed care, or consulting.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid reimbursement and value-based care strategies preferred.
  • Proficiency with SQL and/or SAS for data analysis and modeling.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and interpersonal skills to influence decision-making across teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Medicaid reimbursement and value-based care strategies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain tools and models to measure and report the performance of value-based and shared-savings arrangements.
  • Analyze Medicaid reimbursement components, healthcare claims, and utilization trends to inform cost, revenue, and risk forecasting.
  • Partner with healthcare economics teams to quantify financial and clinical value delivered to patients and payor clients.
  • Conduct profitability analyses by acuity, duration, and resource allocation, providing recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with finance and business development teams to monitor forecasts, investigate variances, and evaluate new business opportunities.
  • Communicate complex actuarial insights in a clear, actionable manner to stakeholders across the organization.
