About The Position

We are seeking an Accounting Clerk Intern to work alongside our Finance Team and gain hands-on experience in Accounting close process of a publicly traded company.   This is a fully in-person summer internship located in Germantown, Maryland. We are seeking a rising senior pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics. Interns will work full-time for a minimum of 12 weeks during the summer.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Rising senior, majoring in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Effectively utilize standard office software and computer equipment
  • Proficient knowledge with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience using Excel formulas and ability to determine when and why you would use specific functions (for example: IF, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS) to solve a problem
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform professional administrative staff duties in support of functional areas, gradually increasing in level of difficulty and responsibility
  • Contribute to the execution of projects and organizational objectives when asked
  • Create graphs and charts for various projects using spreadsheet and graphics software with direction
  • Create various documents and electronic information with direction
  • Update relevant data using database applications
  • Assist in answering questions and/or refer inquiry to appropriate person
  • Assist in researching information as needed for projects and other objectives
  • Assist in coordinating conferences and special events; assist in making any necessary room rental, reservation or catering arrangements
  • Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility
  • Ability to analyze data utilizing Excel and turn into inciteful data
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • May support staff in assigned project based work
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures
