About The Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a candida te to fulfill a Senior Advanced PaaS Developer for TCS . This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national secu rity missions.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field.
  • Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Kubernetes Subject Matter Expert, as well as experience in PodMan or Docker
  • Agile or product management experience
  • Redhat/Linux experience
  • Excellent communication skills; effective presenter with both internal and external audiences
  • Very strong knowledge of technology trends and the ability to champion new ideas, products and process improvements
  • Ability to effectively handle complex assignments and work through challenging problems with external and internal stakeholders
  • Creative thinking with the ability to effectively multi-task

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing leadership, mentoring and guidance in developing multidisciplinary technical solutions for complex embedded systems
  • Ability to create innovative product solutions that meet customer requirements while meeting company financial and business objectives
  • Capable of collaborating in a multidisciplinary team including hardware, software, and cyber-security experts
  • Possess skills to communicate software architectures and designs to medium and large teams of software engineers
  • The ability to support the program with the following: Superior Red Hat Linux Administration and deployment background with a working knowledge of systems
  • Extensive subject matter experience with OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration/PaaS/Cloud technologies
  • Resolve complex issues and conduct research spikes
  • Collaborative team player eager to provide technical leadership and position others for success
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
