About The Position

Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Analyst, Material Management. The purpose of this role is to provide leadership to our materials planning group within our manufacturing plant to successfully purchase and deliver parts and raw materials from our global supply base. This includes managing material planners and supplier relationships in accordance with Whirlpool’s values and goals in safety, quality, delivery and cost. In order to be successful in this role, the material planning senior analyst must have a solid understanding of the value stream of parts under their management - both the external flow to get to the plant but also the internal flow upon arrival and the new production launch process. The material planning team is accountable for ensuring optimum purchased material availability in the support of planned production levels and inventory goals. As the leader of the planning group, the material planning senior analyst is responsible for providing their team proper facilitation and coaching around data analysis, decision making and presentation of solutions around supply issues. These situations are often under tight time constraints and require the ability to make decisions with less than complete data and information. As part of the normal parts management routine, the material planning senior analyst is accountable for leading the monthly safety stock refresh and obsolete processes, ensure that the team is updating and sustaining data integrity within SAP, and utilizing key indicators and management systems to monitor progress against key objectives. Monthly processes also include providing projections on transportation costs, expediting spend, and ensuring the team is following all transportation policies and processes. They are also responsible for developing, documenting and implementing new or improved material planning processes in partnership with the central team, including training of affected personnel. The material planning senior analyst must be able to drive continuous improvement through the planning and execution of kaizens and activities. They must also “champion” WCM through daily coaching in WCM tools and methodologies. These activities must be prioritized and organized to deliver both short-term and long-term goals and activities in accordance with business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or supply chain operations environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Engineering
  • Having knowledge on Industry Standards and systems knowledge for material planning and replenishment, proficient in Google Suite as an asset, MS Office, Access, Project, ERP systems (SAP experience preferred)
  • Strong understanding of WCM concepts along with a proven track record of driving continuous improvement via WCM tools
  • Proven ability to grow individual and organizational competency through proactive coaching and mentoring
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrates success in a team environment
  • Takes ownership within Project Management to identify key results and orients activity to achieve them
  • Takes ownership within Operations to identify key results and orients activity to achieve them

  • Ensuring cycle count accuracy and all internal control processes for inventory accuracy

  • Putting WCM into practice - using WCM tools to drive continuous improvement projects related to improving material management and material flow
  • Financial accuracy - manage outlooking processes for transportation and RWIP/GWC inventory dollars, cycle counting process (specific to certain plants)
