The Opportunity The Senior Analyst, Pricing, works out of our Lake Forest, IL, location in the Abbott Molecular Diagnostics Division. You will work with the US Sales team to develop pricing strategies that ensure goal achievement, assuring customer satisfaction, meeting legal guidelines, and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system. This position will work with Global Pricing, Sales, Management, Legal, OEC, and Finance to apply business knowledge principles and financial concepts to implement recommended strategies. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field.
  • 5 yrs of experience in contracting, pricing, finance, customer relationship management, analysis, or related field (MUST)
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • 2+ years' knowledge of contracting and pricing strategies.
  • Strong proficiency with all MS Office products, advanced Excel.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a time‑sensitive environment while managing multiple projects.
  • Ability to build, maintain, and develop professional relationships within and outside the immediate team.
  • 2+ years of experience working within a sales organization.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytical tools.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate data insights, identify risks, draw conclusions, summarize results, and develop recommendations.
  • Experience with complex pricing models, financial analysis, or large customer proposals (preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in pricing, contracting, financial analysis, or commercial analytics strongly preferred; prior Senior Analyst experience highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of pricing‑related contract terms, commercial obligations, and how pricing structures tie to Terms & Conditions.
  • Experience supporting complex deals, strategic pricing initiatives, or cross‑functional commercial projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work with multiple levels of the Sales organization to develop pricing proposals and contract documents while ensuring compliance with legal guidelines, OEC policies, and business rules.
  • Lead and independently manage complex pricing proposals and deal configurations, guiding pricing structure, financial impact, and alignment with business strategy.
  • Own the creation of customer pricing proposals from start to finish, using both internal and customer templates, including financial and pricing modeling.
  • Provide pricing analysis, P&L impact assessments, and support contract development and execution for large customers.
  • Apply a strong understanding of contracts and pricing to ensure decisions comply with legal, regulatory, and business standards.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present active contract performance in relation to contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate legal review and business approvals for contract terms and conditions.
  • Partner with the Contracting team to develop and finalize customer contract documents, including contributing to pricing‑related language.
  • Guide Sales on contract language related to pricing, including adjustments, incentives, escalators, and volume‑based commitments.
  • Counsel field sales on agreement terms and conditions to ensure compliance with business policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to address complex customer situations and requests.
  • Maintain a strong sense of urgency and ability to work under customer‑driven deadlines, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Support complex pricing strategy, proposal development, and deal configuration requests across the organization.
  • Participate in projects tied to key initiatives and MDx divisional priorities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
