Requirements

  • Requires Master's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science or a closely related field and two years of experience in Software engineering.
  • Alternatively, Bachelor's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science or a closely related field and five years of professional experience in Software engineering
  • Knowledge of the following is also required:
  • Android SDK; and
  • Kotlin, Java, or Android architecture components (LiveData, ViewModel, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the architecture, design, and implementation of Android app features using modern technologies.
  • Design and develop engaging in-app experiences while staying current with platform updates and best practices.
  • Maintain and support existing apps, including bug fixes, performance monitoring, and participation in on-call rotations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to define and implement well-structured engineering solutions.
  • Continuously improve technical skills and code quality through clean, efficient, and testable programming.
  • Help define user stories, ensuring each feature delivers clear value to users.
  • Break down complex problems into actionable plans and execute them with high quality.
  • Lead projects from problem definition through solution design, implementation, and delivery.
  • Ensure code readability, maintainability, and appropriate test coverage.
  • Review peer code and provide constructive feedback.
  • Monitor production releases, manage rollbacks when needed, and maintain responsible production access.
  • Mentor and coach engineers, fostering high performance and technical excellence.
  • Communicate effectively across teams and with engineers of all levels.
  • Participate in candidate interviews and provide thoughtful evaluations.

  • The salary range for this role is $185,000.
  • The option to telecommute is available.
  • Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skill set, certifications, and specific work location.
  • The total compensation package for this role also includes equity stock options.
