About The Position

The Senior Audio Video Production Specialist will support the Office of Legislative and Public Affairs (OLPA) at the National Science Foundation by planning, coordinating, and producing multimedia content that communicates NSF research, programs, and initiatives to diverse audiences. The role involves multimedia project planning, production management, asset management, and coordination with scientists, researchers, and communications teams to deliver high-quality video and multimedia products.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in video or multimedia production .
  • Experience managing video teams and overseeing multimedia production projects.
  • Ability to translate complex topics into engaging multimedia content for diverse audiences.
  • Experience developing distribution or marketing strategies for multimedia projects.
  • Strong project coordination and production management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of multimedia projects aligned with NSF strategic communication objectives.
  • Translate complex scientific topics into engaging multimedia content.
  • Coordinate with scientists, engineers, and communication teams to gather production materials.
  • Research and source appropriate visuals, audio, and video assets.
  • Ensure all content complies with NSF branding and communication standards.
  • Track requests for media assets and maintain project documentation.
  • Maintain multimedia archives and digital asset management systems.
  • Support studio and production system maintenance including video and editing equipment.
  • Manage file storage, backups, and archiving of production assets.
  • Serve as on-site production manager coordinating schedules, studio operations, and production logistics.
  • Assign tasks and monitor production progress to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Support partnerships and collaborative multimedia projects with external organizations.
  • Coordinate script reviews, video approvals, and content distribution efforts.
  • Manage raw footage archives and final production assets.
  • Assist with web content development including articles and visual assets for NSF platforms.
